As odd as Bernie Bernie Headflap's approach to titles is, Cheese on Wheat is really just odd enough -- the band runs through moderately catchy rock songs, with punky hooks and bashing structures that aren't entirely unusual, but there's an unplaceably odd slant to their approach that keeps the record fascinating without really getting strange enough to seem stupid or indulgent.
