Wu-Tang - Wu-Tang X Remedy
The production is as Shaolin style as any album thus far but the kicker is, how many of the clan's members feature on this album and on multiple tracks too! It’s a shame ‘Raekwon’ & ‘GZA’ are absent (i wish The Genius would stop star gazing and get back on this music tip) but there are features from other affiliated MC’s such as ‘Street Life’, ‘Trife Diesel’, ‘Killah Priest’, ‘Solomon Childs’ & ‘Shyheim’ and the only nonaffiliated artist to feature is ‘Conway The Machine’! So as you might have gathered, there’s an abundance of bars and plenty of raw dusty powerful beats to get you hyped.
You already know what time it is when you hear the kung-fu skit right off the bat on ‘Modern Day Miracle’ and just knew this was gonna be some serious Wu-Tang ish and we weren’t wrong. ‘Death Defying’ was the first release track and was a taster of ‘Remedy Meets Wu-Tang’ , with its Choir & horn-heavy production it fits right in with the vibe and Wu sound. ‘The Pulpit’ & ‘Crazy 8’s’ are two raw bangers that have great features and see every MC really going in for the kill. @Supreme Intellect’ feat. RZA is a fire track with RZA proving he’s still the Digi Snacks and whilst it might sound like a ‘Griselda’ track it actually sounds more like Wu so shows how influenced ‘Griselda was from Wu-Tang.
